On Sunday, September 28 Sierra Bible Church sent 15 of their parishioners to help clear the lot for the latest Habitat home to be built in Tuolumne County. The helpful group included a 12 year old boy, a guy with a bad leg, a young married couple, three chain saws and Dave Alley with his big chipper and dump truck. Everyone worked very hard.
Rich Feaster, a HFHTC Board member, organized the group that started about 9:30 and finished at 12:30. These hardworking volunteers cut and chipped the trees that needed to be removed for the building site and the brush at the back is cleared out as well.
Thanks to Dave Alley for donating his time and his chipper, we now have a big pile of chips we can use as ground cover when the septic system is in. The homeowner-to-be, Kathleen Brennan came by the site at noon (on her lunch break from work) and seemed very happy that things were getting started.
