On October 29, 2008, Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County(HFHTC) received notification from the Sonora Area Foundation(SAF) that they had approved our recently submitted grant request for $15,000. These funds will be applied to the building of the Brennan house, the sixth Habitat home to be built in Tuolumne County.
Upon receipt of this very generous grant, Betsy Harden (Executive Director of HFHTC) spoke with Lin Freer (Program Manager of SAF). Harden expressed the sincere gratitude of the HFHTC Board for the confidence this grant embodies. Freer said,“The Foundation Board has noted the enthusiasm and professionalism at HFHTC in the past couple of years which encouraged this wonderful support.”
We are honored that a Foundation the caliber of SAF believes in our ability to achieve our mission—providing a hand up, not a handout to Tuolumne County’s hardworking families.
