What We Build

Our typical house is 1200 square feet with 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a living room, dining area, kitchen and laundry room. We have constructed one and two-story houses depending on the configuration of the lot.

A completed house includes a refrigerator, stove, furnace, air conditioner, water heater and various options depending on availability. Our recent builds include state of the art green building construction techniques and materials.

We've Raised the Bar

Almost overnight, our mission has changed from building one home a year to becoming the premier affordable housing developer in Tuolumne County. In September 2009, Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County purchased a local development property that had gone into foreclosure from Umpqua Bank for the bargain price of $399,000 — a substantial discount from its initial $1.7 million bank value. We were able to make this remarkable purchase thanks to a short-term bridge loan from Habitat for Humanity International that was due and payable on June 30, 2010. Then in April of 2010, Lowes Corporation donated $400,000 to the project which paid off the balance on the loan clearing the way for us to move ahead into the construction phase.

With our new development, named Parrott's Ferry Village, we now own 36 residential lots on which to begin building 36 energy-efficient, solar-powered, single family dwellings (2-story town homes) over the next five years. Thank-you Umpqua and Lowes!
