HfHTC is in the process of developing business plans for a Habitat ReStore.
ReStore Mission Statement
The mission of HfHTC’s Restore is three-fold:
A Habitat ReStore is a retail store that accepts donations of pre-owned tools and building materials from the public (private citizens and businesses) and resells them to the public for 10% to 50% of the original price. The money we make from these sales will be used to help HfHTC complete our mission of wiping out housing poverty in our area.
The donations that you and other people have been making since April 2009 are being placed in storage so we can have a large enough inventory to open a ReStore. So if any of your friends or family are remodeling, just cleaning out the garage or a storage unit, please ask them to check with Habitat before throwing anything away that still has some useful life left in it. See Acceptable Products for a list of items we accept as donations.
One of the benefits of donating “stuff” to HfHTC is that you can receive a receipt for your donation to a Non-profit for the value of the items donated. Another is that all the items that you donate to HfHTC will not wind up in a landfill, saving the community money in the long run.
We are working diligently to get the ReStore opened in March 2010
We are looking for volunteers than are interested in helping us succeed. If you would like to volunteer to work in the ReStore, please fill out a volunteer form. We will be listing volunteer job openings in the near future.
