About Us
History
Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity International has been working as a non-profit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing. There are now more than 1700 Habitat affiliates in the United States.
Founded by Frank Smart and Ruth Callahan in 1999, Habitat
for Humanity of Tuolumne County became the 72nd affiliate in California. Since
then we have built five new single family homes and renovated three others, benefiting 13 adults
and 21 children.
Mission Statement
Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County works under the guidance of God and in partnership with people from all walks of life to help deserving families create a better home, which contributes to the well-being of our partner families and our communities.
Board of Directors
Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County, Inc. is governed by a local Board of Directors comprised
of a diverse range of volunteers from our community. This Board is responsible for defining the
strategy and implementing the plans by which HFHTC operates and fulfills its mission.

Committees
Habitat affiliates carry out their work through operating committees comprised of volunteers
and Directors. We are continually seeking volunteers who are committed to fulfilling Habitat’s
mission through participation in these committees. The committees currently active in our affiliate
